Dr. Van Ryn is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. He attended medical school at Albany Medical College in Albany, NY. Dr. Van Ryn then completed his general surgery internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX.
Dr. Van Ryn has been practicing orthopedic surgery in the St. Louis area for over 25 years and prior to joining with Tesson Heights Orthopaedics, was with Premier Care Orthopedics (North Division of Signature Health Services, Inc.) where he was a past president.
Dr. Van Ryn is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Van Ryn is a past president of the St. Louis Orthopedic Society as well as being a current member of the American Medical Association, Missouri State Medical Association, Missouri State Orthopedic Society and St. Louis Metropolitan Medical Society.
Col. Van Ryn serves as Commander of the 131st Medical Group, 131st Fighter Wing, Missouri Air National Guard.
Dr. Van Ryn is accepting new patients and also treats worker’s compensation patients, including Independent Medical Evaluations (IME’s). Along with orthopedic surgery, his subspecialty interests are in minimally invasive joint replacements, sports medicine and orthopedic trauma.
Dr. Van Ryn performs surgery at St. Anthony’s Medical Center, Des Peres Hospital and Manchester Surgery Center.
